Farrington Highway in Ewa to Reopen to Public Wednesday Morning

Farrington Highway in Ewa between Kualakai Parkway (North-South Road) and Old Fort Weaver Road will be reopened to the public at 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation announced.

The two-lane stretch of Farrington Highway has been closed since late November so that work crews could safely relocate several major utility lines and conduct shaft and column work for the elevated rail guideway.

When the section of road reopens to the general public on Wednesday morning, drivers using the eastern end of Farrington Highway will still need to take a slight detour along Old Fort Weaver Road fronting Kahi Mohala while work continues in that area (see map below).

"We are pleased to announce that Farrington Highway in Ewa will be reopened on schedule," said HART Executive Director and CEO Dan Grabauskas. "We want to say a big mahalo to the commuters who've endured the closure of this stretch of Farrington Highway over these past few months. We really appreciate your patience during the work."
